I have looked in the mirror over 43,000 times in my life. I don’t see changes every day but my face has changed: a few wrinkles and lines now that show my maturity. I put makeup on, which covers some, but my natural face remains, the one I was born with. I must look on it with love. I have a body that lasts a few years and then retires to the ground where it came from. My spirit lives on. While here on earth I want to look the best I can every day. Not because of beauty, it is fleeting, but because of community. When I walk out the door I represent my Christian faith first, my family second, and my community third. We can choose what we wear and how we will appear to others. If my hair is messy and clothes rumpled or unclean, I show that I don’t care about myself or those around me. I don’t need to dress to impress but to be considerate of others. How I react to people in my church, home, and community reflects who I am. If I am full of anger, resentment, fear, and anxiety it will show...
